Parts On Demand
PolyJet is a 3D-printing technology invented by Stratasys, which jets thousands of material droplets layer by layer to create a solid 3D model. With over 100 material combinations to choose from, you can incorporate diverse material properties and aesthetics – including flexibility and opacity – directly into your component.
PolyJet is the perfect solution for designers who want realistic models but have to contend with inconsistent color results and rough finishes. PolyJet is capable of producing models indistiguishable from the real thing, allowing designers to incorporate texture, color, text and labels.
PolyJet is the fastest technology in the Stratasys Direct arsenal, with parts ready to be shipped in hours.
3D printing with PolyJet allows you to incorporate multiple materials into a single print, resulting in quick production of realistic parts and design iterations early in the product development life cycle.
3D printing with PolyJet means the smoothest precision possible with fine resolutions that bring delicate features to life.
Think of PolyJet (Monikers: Material jetting, photocuring, inkjet printing) like your home 2-D paper printer.
Your 2-D color printer lays out minuscule droplets of color onto your paper, forming words and images.
In a similar fashion, PolyJet uses fine print head nozzles to deposit droplets of photocurable material in layers as fine as 16 microns (0.0006" inches) to form detailed 3-D parts.
Each pass of the material jetting deposits one or more different materials including the support structure at the same time, cured as it is deposited via UV light. When one layer is cured, the build table lowers by a small increment, then the next layer of material is deposited on top of the last layer.
The final step is to remove the support material which is a separate composition formulated to release from the part when blasted with water.
With a range of photopolymers to address functionality and cosmetic needs, PolyJet offers a cost effective and efficient solution for prototyping or modeling. Using our wide variety of PolyJet materials, you can combine several different materials into a single model from flexible to rigid, transparent to opaque.
Ideal PolyJet applications include:
Years of PolyJet experience has made us experts in achieving amazing 3D printed components for your industry in a range of materials.
PolyJet is the only technology that offers Pantone® verified colors. Combine this with clear materials that can be tinted at different percentages allows designers to choose the exact colors, opaqueness or transparancy. PolyJet also has flexible materials which can be mixed with rigid materials offering gradations from stiff to flexible in one part; This capability of printing rigid Shore D and flexible Shore A materials in a single part allows for the creation of over-molded 3D-printed parts without the need for tooling.
Vero is a rigid and durable photopolymer resin ideal for producing beautiful, realistic, dimensionally accurate concept models where feature definition and a smooth surface finish are required.
Learn moreAgilus is a PolyJet Photopolymer with superior tear-resistance, capable of withstanding repeated flexing and bending. The ideal material for rapid prototyping and design validation, this rubber-like material simulates the look, feel and function of rubber-like products.
Learn moreOvermolding is the process of manufacturing a component with flexible and rigid elements in a single build process. In the PolyJet Overmold process, the technology combines the rubber-like Agilus material (the overmold) with the VeroWhite material (the substrate) according to the design specifications.
Learn moreDigital ABS Plus™ is designed to simulate standard ABS plastics by combining high-temperature resistance with toughness.
Learn moreRigur is a tough and durable material that simulates polypropylene. It is engineered to deliver reliable performance and impressive dimensionally-stable prototypes.

Stratasys Direct, the 3D-printing parts arm of Stratasys, means you get parts manufactrured from the company who invented the PolyJet technology. Our PolyJet services are backed by more than just Stratasys’ industry leadership; We have nearly thirty years experience in 3D printing and a tireless team of engineers ready to assist with every step of your project.
The use of PolyJet in a range of industries has led us to develop unique solutions in post-processing and material development in order to serve customers with versatile needs.
With quality certifications ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications and ITAR registration, our team of engineers won’t rest until your requirements are met for precise parts.
PolyJet is extremely fast – the fastest of all our technologies.
The actual turnaround time depends on the size of the component and desired resolution. We have shipped next day but we ship most parts within 2 or 3 days upon receiving the order.
PolyJet is excellent at producing fine feature detail. At its highest resolution, PolyJet can build in layers as thin as 0.00063” inches (0.016mm). The recommended minimum wall thickness is 0.040" inches (1.01mm)
Yes, they can be used in some production and end-use applications. At Stratasys Direct, we have internal production uses of PolyJet.
However, PolyJet materials are photocured resin which means mechanical properties deteriate with extended exposure to UV light. As a note, many of our PolyJet models that we have around our shop have been around for over a decade.
Some high-requirement production applications are better suited to technologies that utilize thermoplastics like FDM, SAF, or SLS technologies.
